Refund and Cancellation

Dnyankartika Bahuddeshiya Sevabhavi Sanstha is a registered nonprofit organization that accepts voluntary contributions from individuals, institutions, and corporate entities to support its rural development initiatives. We value your support and are committed to transparency and donor trust. However, as a charitable organization, donations are typically non-refundable once processed. This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines the rare exceptions and procedures applicable

General Policy on Donations

  • All donations made via our website, UPI, NEFT/RTGS, cheque, or cash are considered final and non-refundable, except under specific, legitimate circumstances.
  • Donations are voluntary and non-commercial. The donor receives no material benefit in return.
  • Donations are eligible for tax exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, and donation receipts are issued accordingly.

A refund may be processed in the following rare cases:

  • Donation amount was debited more than once due to a technical error
  • Donor submitted the wrong amount (e.g., ₹10,000 instead of ₹1,000) and contacts us within 24 hours of the transaction
  • Transaction made fraudulently or without donor’s authorization (with supporting proof)
  • Donation made by mistake and refund is requested within 3 working days

Note: Refunds will only be made to the same source account/method used for payment (bank, UPI, credit/debit card).

To request a refund, the donor must email:

Include the following:

  • Full name and contact information
  • Transaction ID and amount donated
  • Date and mode of donation
  • Reason for requesting a refund
  • Proof of transaction (bank statement or payment receipt)

Our team will acknowledge the request within 3 working days, and respond with a resolution within 7–10 business days, subject to internal approval.

If you are a monthly or recurring donor, you may cancel your contribution at any time by:

  • Writing to us at [Insert Email]
  • Stopping the payment via your bank or UPI mandate
  • Informing your payment provider, if applicable

Cancellation will be effective from the next billing cycle. No refund will be provided for the already processed instalment(s).

  • Donations made more than 3 days prior to the refund request
  • Contributions made in exchange for event participation, campaign pledges, or cobranded promotions
  • Donations for which 80G receipts have already been issued and/or claimed in tax returns
  • In-kind donations (goods, services, volunteering time, etc.)

We ensure your payment and donation information is securely processed via encrypted payment gateways. No sensitive financial information is stored by our servers. For more, please refer to our [Privacy Policy].

This Refund Policy is framed in accordance with:

  • The Income Tax Act, 1961 (Section 80G)
  • CSR funding guidelines under the Companies Act, 2013
  • FCRA compliance
  • IT Act (Reasonable Security Practices Rules, 2011)
